To run a PHP script posting to a HTTPS (SSL) page you need cURL installed in the PHP libs and also SSL support on the hosting software.

The two hosting companies I use both claim to have this, but it seems not to be installed properly, so my reg script in PHP using cURL wont work there.

I know its a complex question but do any of you scripters know of a fast host who can handle that kind of a script.

If you like to trade this info I might have something for you in return.

If your reg script... like, say "ModernBill", has a cURL install checker, isolate this for presentation purposes and get some support from your host and show them that it IS NOT WORKING.

If your host claims to support cURL and your scripting is saying "not installed", that's bad business if they don't fullfill your request to have this rectified.

One host I've used did NOT offer this. I asked if they did, and they said "easy enough" and it was done within a day or two (and they never claimed to support this).

Best of luck,

thx for the tips guys (I've spent manyer hours at curl.haxx.se the last year...).

I will have another word with my host, however a PHP info script says SSL and CURL is installed properly (but they aren't), which is why I dont think I can convince them to reinstall. But I'll look into the cURL install checker script, maybe you have a link to a snippet?

I believe... and I may be wrong... but, I believe there is a difference between whether PHP has cURL support configured/installed, and whether the cURL library itself is installed. Similar to having php GD lib support configured to work, and then not having the library properly installed on the server.

If you get a specific script that checks for cURL's proper installation you'll be stylin'.
