Fantastic name!

Sale price = 1.2 mil
Reserve is 1 mil.

Ought to be no less than a seven figure name. Great for TV.

Indeed.

Wow... crazy domain. :) Online Domino / Pizza Hut franchise.... Worth 1 million slices of pizza at least.

I think that reserve will be met

I took it up to $150k .. Hoping that all other high bidders will fail to pay and then I'll be asked if I want to purchase it for $150k .. :)

haha very optimistic hope :)

Its a "good" name. Pizza is a low margin item and although pizza is a natural online for pickup or delivery name. I would still type-in (and do ALL the time) - the actual name of the chain to order my pizza or check out the menu.

I go to Pizzahut.com if I want to order from Pizza Hut. If I want to check out the menu at Panago - I go to Panago.com......as long as what is intuitive is what the url is - its good - Dominos should be dominos....

I already don't like central ordering on the phone - I think I would like central ordering on the net even less....

On the other hand - if I'm Pizza Hut or any of the big players - I want to own Pizza.com - but only to redirect to "my" site - "my" brand - I wouldn't use it as "pizza".com

So it might still sell for a pile of money because - why not - we can afford it - we'll make the franchises buy it - says the chain.

I think the owner of Pizza.com will do well.

Seems like that is a very reasonable reserve.

This would get tremendous play time and branding on any major player...papa johns, pizza hut, dominoes...imagine the ease of branding on any commercial or sports event.

totally agree. there should be an all-out bidding war on this domain if they are at all aware

1 mil is probably a drop in the bucket for Pizza Hut

any precedents? I.e. any other similar generic domains? (hamburger.com, taco.com...)

beer.com - $7,000,000

I have Pizza.tv and Pizza.cc
The keyword is indeed very strong
Low $xx,xxx offer received for Pizza.tv(standard reg fee)

I reckon itll go for $1.7 mill.

Quality namew.

I can only wish!

Its the type of name you want to bid on just to say I bid on that name!

The bidding looks strange to me...
someone brought it up to the last level before the reserve?
The current bid 999K but the last bid before that was 641K
Anyone notice this?

Probably somebody aware of it's potential and determined to get it, thus trying to scare off the competition that might otherwise by the end of the auction inflate the price even more...

1.005M now
reserve still not met

On the other hand - if I'm Pizza Hut or any of the big players - I want to own Pizza.com - but only to redirect to "my" site - "my" brand - I wouldn't use it as "pizza".com

Agreed. It would not make sense to dilute their own brand name by using the domain pizza.com.

However it does open the doors for a new brand to be created. I can think of nothing better than a chain of home delivery pizza shops named Pizza.com

1,750,000 -- reserve not met yet.

Anyone know what the reserve could be?
