What do you think of a website, similar in features to that of ebay, but instead of having sellers and buyers, this website will have "traders"

People can post items they have for trade instead of sale

Charge the people a listing fee (the people who are posting the items for trade). Either charge a listing fee or percentage of value of the item for trade

Sorry there Webmomentum. We both have Web in our name so maybe that has something to do with it.

If you were going to move forward with a site like this you would charge a listing fee.

Shipping is an interesting scenario.

eBay is already there (it does have it's own auction sections).
I know that it's pretty pants for getting a good deal (well everything is pretty poor for sellers on eBay :( ).

The main problem I can see is that you would probably get a lot of fraudulent auctions - how would you cover that situation?

That was my first thought (shipping).

I like the idea of a bartering website. Bartering is GREAT...

In the case of my dad, he once traded a camper for a 357 magnum pistol. He would have been ripped on the shipping!

The shipping is the responsibility of the traders. All transactions must go through escrow so I am not held liable for anything
