I have just registered an expired domain from clubdrop. It was a popular soap opera site and I would like to develop it. It lost its PR and I would like to know how to restore it?

once you set a site up again, providing it has not lost all of its backlinks its pr should appear again in the next update

You also might try listing the site in a few high-PR directories. That's the best way I've found to raise a site's PR from the ashes quickly.

When a site expires, google tends to discount the existing backlinks.
Or so I have read.

The suggestion of getting a few decent links to hold you until the original links regain their voting power is a good one.

In the future, if you can, buy the domain off the previous owner before it expires, that way there is no loss of PR.

Of course then you may be simply reminding them to reregister...
