Age of site (years): Roughly 4 1/4 years (exactly 1564 days)
Monthly revenue:
October - 888$ + 90$ = 978$
November - 699$ + 70$ = 769$
December - 726$ + (when I changed some code in december, I accidently removed the trigger for the popups (as you can see in the stats) - otherwise this would be roughly 920$
Revenue details: The site started as a private project, to which I just added some ads. It has never been optimized for revenue nor for search engines, I just added some google ads and a popup from paypopup.com - here're the stats from the previous months:
Popups October 2005
Popups November 2005
Popups December 2005
Popups January 2006
Google Adsense October
Google Adsense November
Google Adsense December
A friend of mine said he could do better than that with Yahoo, so I allowed him to add these ads to the site - no clue yet how these will work out - someone with more experience could certainly improve these earnings a lot.
Monthly page views: 800.000 ?
AWStats has serious issues generating our stats report - if the log file grows above above 2 GB, the server deletes it (cPanel), as it would stop apache from working otherwise ... so if you're wondering wtf is going on with the "0" visits numbers - we weren't down on these days or something, but the log file became too large again there.
Here is a log from awstats to give you a pretty rough idea:
http://www.ngemu.com/bobbi/ads/awstats.html

Description:
This site has been online for over 4 years now. I developed it as a hobby and never as a commercial project. However, I now have a job with a huge german company and they don't want me to own another commercial project which generates income - so I'm selling this site here now. Don't worry about legal aspects btw - emulation is perfect legal as we don't supply games, roms or the BIOS itself.
The site covers, as the name (NGEmu = Next-Gen Emulation) suggests, emulation on and off the latest console systems - just take a look at the page, you can find the systems in the top menu. To describe the content is close to impossible - it's simply too huge! To get a slight idea, check out our stats page (http://www.ngemu.com/misc.php?action=stats) or just click a bit through the site.
The site is powered by a 100% self developed CMS, which you can check out on the screenshots below. Two parts of the site, however, are based on commercial projects:
- The message board is vBulletin, the license is still valid until october 2006.
- The WYSIWYG editor you see on shot #3 is from http://www.wysiwygpro.com and licensed for ngemu.com
CMS Shot #1
CMS Shot #2
CMS Shot #3
The whole content of the site has been designed and carried together by me - the size of the data we collected is totally unique and beats any other emulation site out there. Our community (http://www.emuforums.com) has roughly 46.000 members, 63.000 threads and 894.000 posts. We are listed at big-boards.com and average at place 1067.
The server costs average at 170$ a month right now. If you were to purchase another server from the company we have our second server with (plusserver from germany), you could lower this to roughly 130-140$. We use two servers as the message board sometimes features an exclusive release covered on /. or other sites, and these links pull down the whole server when they appear.
The bandwidth usage is at roughly 2000 GB a month, but the bandwidth is included in the above servers. If you don't want to use these - no problem!
After the purchase, you have two possibilities how to go on with the site:
1) You get the whole content transferred and take over the site. For 2 months, I'm available for you to answer all questions and fix things which aren't working the way they are uspposed to be.
2) You just sit back and let me continue running it. You heard right: You can get a contract with me, that I'll run and update the whole site for 18 months, you just take the revenue it generates. No work involved!
No deadline on this, but I'm looking for a rather quick sale as I want to get the problems with my new job solved. If you have questions about this, drop me a pm or reply to this thread, I'll try to answer as soon as possible (don't worry if it takes 24 hours, I have a real life job after all
)
Payments through escrow only, feel split fees 50/50.
Enjoy
