I am selling my directory of directories, it is a 4-5 month old site, but never promoted until now. All what I did to promote it was some forum posts and signature links.
To get backlinks I released a free phpld temmplate. Live demo can be seen here: http://www.url-submission.org/ I will give the template to the new owner and he will have ful rights on it.
DirDir has got a custom phpld skin made by me, uses PHPLD 3.0 and I also paid for footer link removal.
The directory got the PR6 on this last update, the only thing that is different from now is 2 PR7 links which have already expired. All the other links are from my sites or where bought for 1 year or permanent, they will all remain as they are for 8-9 more months.
With the sale I will also include 3 not coded phpld templates, so I will just give you the psd and you will have to get someone to code them, you can find cheap people that do this for $30 each. This is a great way of getting backlinks.
I will also tell the new owner 2 sites which I used to get 3 free pr6 text links.
The directory has got a great strength, an example of this is if you search at Google for "Ask Directory" (one directory listed at DirDir) we appear in the 6th position: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGGL,GGGL:2006-27,GGGL:es&q=ask+directory&btnG=Search
Revenue Details:
Currently I sold 4 text links at the homepage for 3 months each at $25/month, making a total of $400. That 4 links must remain intact until 15th March 2007.
I also sold 4 links since I started promoting the forum with blog posts, 2 regular links and 2 featured links where sold, making a total of $210, I also added 3 links which are mine. None of the directory links can be removed, only the featured that have to be paid yearly.
So the total revenue I made was $610 in 40 days (since when I started promoting).
The site has got great potential as u can sell 10 links for $25/month each making a total of $250/month by just selling text links on homepage. If this site is correctly promoted you can sell lots of directory links and make a lot of money, the directory just needs a bit of care.
The revenue should be min $320 if you just sell 10 text links on homepage and 2 regular directory listings a month.
