ah, yes - what do I think about pvay.com ?
ahem - (with apologies to Bob Dylan and Albert Einstein's accent ...)

okay, maybe that's not going to work so well.
Anyway ... PVAY seems like a "good new / bad news" combo.
First the good news - maybe a decent chance of finding a business such as a law firm that goes by 3 or 4 initials - *maybe* the 'A' in the penultimate position *might* switch off as short for 'and' instead of another name (?? just an idea, not sure if this is widely accepted practice but could be some flexibility there) ... so for example maybe could work as initials for something like EITHER "Parker, Vaughn, and Young" - OR - "Parker, Vaughn, Adams, Young" ... Second option seems a lot better - using the 'a' for 'and' could be a non-starter for most people.
Trying to estimate value for a reseller based on what their perceived probability of finding at least 2 interested end users to bid up the price to a worthwhile level in a reasonable amount of time ... So here comes the bad news - 'V' and 'Y' are fairly "bad" (low-frequency) letters when it comes to last names in the U.S.A at least.
Checking against a list of the 88,799 most common last names recorded in the 1990 U.S. Census:
Roughly 4-5% begin with 'P' (so that's good, a bit above average)
Only about 1% begin with 'V' ...
About 3% begin with 'A'
Looks like less than 1% begin with 'Y'
So the "non-premium" V and Y probably hurt a lot in terms of value to resellers. Seems like current value somewhere around reg fee up to $15 from most resellers here - could see a little bump up to the $20-$30 range in a few weeks after the last of the remaining "low quality" LLLL.com names are bought up - or not, I don't know.
But if you're lucky enough to find some law firm etc doing business as "Parker, Vaughn, Anderson, Young" sometime in the next year or 2 or 3 ... well, that end user sale will definitely be worth the reg fees you pay in the meantime, right? Quite possibly upwards of $1000 ...
Here's a link to the census data - might be worth googling combinations of the names beginning with 'P' 'V' 'A' and 'Y' to see if any / how many of those combos are out there ... If it's over 100 then seems like a decent chance at least one of them may be inclined to pay a good price for pvay.com - happy hunting!
