Me and my friend were thinking of causing a bit of a stir on our sites by offering t-shirts but i need to ask before we do it.

basically we want to produce merchandise with slogans like

"F*CK NELLY" or "Tupac's Dead - Accept It"

with our site logos on the back

i am 99% this is not legal but i thought i would ask anyways.

If we use their name in this way could they sue us???

sorry if this is a stupid question but i just want confirmation on what i already think is the case.

Just make sure you sell only extra large sizes...

They will have to fit comfortably over the bulletproof vests
your customer's will need while wearing them.

I believe that an Arbitator indicated in the Tupac.com UDRP that Tupac was generic. Eg. Julia Roberts had no more rights to Julia.com than Tupac S’s estate had to Tupac.com

And that was .COMs - so as far as T-shirts, you could also sell: Ike is dead, Elvis is dead, George is dead… without a problem.

Caveat: I am not a lawyer and I do not play one on TV
