Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but..

How do's one sell a developed website? Just thinking about;

  • databases
  • secure, shopping carts etc

Surely its easy enough to email images and html files etc, but what about the rest?

The reason for this, is I will soon be offering a busy 'Band Fan Portal' which will have a PHP BB, chat etc. I presume its easy enough to send a ZIP with all the HTML and images with the directory structure, and send the original BB with a backup of the database. Anything else I need to know?

Any help will be great;

If it's hosted, which i assume it is, just give the buyer the ftp/password info and let them d/l and/or transfer/copy it to their server. Or host it for them and nothing has to change hands except more $$ to you :party:

Ah I see. I could give them an FTP login and charge for hosting?

...or they can just move the files to their own host and change DNS.

Sounds easier :)

How do's the average user on DNForum achieve this?

using CPanel you can backup entire sites and entire mySQL databases. Its not too hard to transfer a site.
