I have started a post on my blog and would like all the help I can get by tracking domain names that Registrars are KEEPING!

This is a very shady thing that registrars do, but it's a fact, they do keep some expired/expiring domain names and pay nothing more then the renewal cost on the domain.

If you can assist with a domain that you were watching and and it never went to auction, please make a post and provide the proof that the registrar kept the domain name.

I started off with one domain (Shed.net) that Register.com kept when it expired, but I know others know of many more domains.

After we get a list going, I will personally contact ICANN and put together an effort to put an end to this crap! :ok:

Well I personally do not see much different in Registrar keeping it versus sell it to some doaminer who will be keeping it or flip it to someone who will keep it...if they would feel they might come into trouble with ICANN they could make fake auction and pretend to sell it (to themselves). So lets be glad there still EXIST some registrars who really drop domains and others who are at least willing to sell...

ICANN has been contacted about this hundreds of times over many years.
