I have only been watching the domain market since 2004

But is it me or are good names getting much harder to find?

I rarely have more than a dozen auctions I track via snapnames in a week, whereas I used to have hundreds - and the quality of the names have decreased.

Sedo has become worthless as everybody wants 200k for their domains and most arent that great

Buydomains surprisingly as some real gems every once in a while

But overall, quality has decreased

Is it just me that feels this way?

Agreed - you are absolutely right.

In addition to that, decent names posted here for low reseller prices are not selling.

about the last year up until the time enom club drop went in namejet, there were tons of great names dropping in "pre-release". my silly -ass was sometimes too hesitant to catch with the BIN button. especially when the bin was at "$120.00" instead of the later "$240.00".

some names like....

eartrimmer
backland
magicpotion
purificationsystems
internalization

all coms within reach of the BIN :(

traditional names like LLL and NNN are still selling, as well as traffic/rev names.

it's just that asking prices are rising and only those who got the budgets can buy.

imo...

I think that it's not an impression but a reality. You can bet that fewer and fewer quality names are going to make it to the market.

IMO there are still good buys to be had at sedo (sometimes) but too often the end users have unreasonable expectations when they are selling, but they think lowball offers ($60) are "generous" when they are the buyer. As a result I am less inclined to sell. Now I devote more time to development.

The game is getting tougher every year but despair not - there are still opportunities.
My advice would be to buy now - while you still can - and hold, not sell unless you must.

Disagree.

I see lots of good, money-making drops sitting out there.

I don't have time to deal with them all. More than enough to go around:)

Just do your research. Best wishes,

If you do some research and have good funds to back you up, no such thing as scarcity

I agree 100 %, fewer good names around, especially at a fair market price for the domain.

Big purificationsystems was a nice domain IMO
