*** BIDDING ENDS MIDNIGHT GMT TODAY ***

Hi

I am 'testing the water' as it were for interest in the purchase of www.exaria.com

Exaria.com is a search engine. It uses a highly modified version of Sphider, where search speed has been increased and the category system as been done away with to increase performance.

Exaria.com has it's own web spider called ExariaBot, which will spider links submitted to Exaria.com and index them is they meet the criteria outlined in the websites config file. I have written the submission page which adds links into a queue to be crawled. Once links are crawled they become a part of the search results.

I have also written a script which can be run using cron (cron jobs) that will set ExariaBot crawling newly submitted links every X minutes/hours/days/months (This is completely adjustable by yourself with a basic understanding of cron jobs)

The design of the site also utilizes css for speed and convenience.

At the minute I have deleted the database after testing so that there are no links in it (well there are 2 but you know what I mean :D). It is very easy and very fast to fill this database using the ExariaBot. Just get your friends to submit a site each then run the spider, and watch the number of web pages searched increase :)

The site is optimized for a linux setup and uses 1 MySQL database. I can offer hosting for £50 per year if you do not wish to transfer the site, if you do want to transfer the site to your own hosting I can assist with the transfer and setup.

As for a price range, I do not currently have one in mind, but I reserve the right to withdraw the site from sale at any time and for any reason.

Please ask all questions in this thread or by PM.

Kind Regards,

Craig

High bid is currently £200

in the descrption of "Sphider" it says it supports between 10,000 - 20,000 sites, will this script support more?

Thanks.

Yes. I modified a script for a client before, who then sold the site on, and that site now has 37,000 indexed urls. This script is more modified than that site aswell.

$363 is by today's rate conversion.

You bet me to it :-)
Looking to sell within the next 2 days

Is it possible to include content from specific DMOZ categories in the DB?

Does it provide for pre-approval of listings / submissions?

Yes it is a spider, it spiders sites that are fed to it, so if you input a specific DMOZ category it would index it.

What do you mean 'pre-approval of listings'? People submit their sites, the spider visits them and indexes them if they are appropriate according to variables set in the config file.

The spider can be run manually for each site, or you can use the additional script that I have written via cron jobs to index submitted sites every x minutes/hours/days/months etc

He's probably asking if you can take a web site out of the queue manually if it doesn't meet you're own requirements.

Does the engine created static pages of listings or dynamically generated pages?

are you able to rescript it so when a site is feeded to it, it spiders all the links in that site too?

This is possible already, you would give the spider instructions to do a full spidering of the site.

And yes you can remove sites manually from the admin panel. The pages are created dynamically, do a search at www.exaria.com and see for yourself how search results look.

So is there a cap on the number of sites, or did you completely remove the limit?

Please PM me before making your final discission. I leave for vacation tonight so hope to hear from you before then.

There isn't a cap as such, the spider will keep going and going, but obviously the more urls that have to be searched, the longer the search will take. As mentioned above, I modified the same script for a client and that site now has upwards of 37,000 urls indexed.

@littlenicky: Thanks for the bid, you are now the highest bidder
