Anyone here in the auction for or won SecurityService.Net a day or so ago?
Not a high-profile name but it was worth $60 to me (I didn't get it) - I'm interested in the sequence and timing of the auction at Pool so if you were involved or got it please post or PM.

# 45 won it for $ 210.00

Mr Webname,

Are you saying that the name was only worth $ 60. to you?

And, you knew it went to auction.

Why would you be curious about the "sequence and timing of the auction"?

Yes, thanks actnow - I just have a suspicious mind!

Yes $60 was my bid and was the first bid, I would have gone a little higher but it certainly was not worth over $100 to me. If it had been securityservices then that would have been a different matter. I am just curious as to bidder #45.

5 days later and still showing as with Pool - hmmm.

10 days later and whois still just shows:

Domain Name: SECURITYSERVICE.NET
Registrar: DOMAIN REGISTRATION SERVICES
Whois Server: whois.dotearth.com
Referral URL: http://www.dotearth.com
Name Server: DNS.POOL.COM
Name Server: DNS2.POOL.COM
Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Updated Date: 14-mar-2004
Creation Date: 14-mar-2004
Expiration Date: 14-mar-2005

Am I right to be suspicious of who had the final bid?

Same thing with a domain I had backordered, seems something strange is going on.

you may get it for $60 Mr.Webname

You are getting his hopes' up for no reason.

Pool is trying to maximize their revenue until the WLS hammer drops.
Plus, there is someone in between Mr. Webname and the top bidder.

Someone here got the name for $60 and there're 2 higher bidders.

I was the first bidder and another person bid above me - quite correct up to now - then a "mystery" bidder comes in with a $500 bid and takes the name. But then doesn't seem to take it - could it be Pool is my thinking!
