SedoPro is terrific!

Unlike others, i like SEDOPRO (more money, great templates, nice freebies, fast support...).
If you have good generic and/or europe-related domains, it works better than any other parking programs.
If you own typo or exotic names (Chinese, Indian... traffic), not sure Sedo is your best option.
Just my 2 cents.

ya'll act like sedo is out there shaving and ripping off domainers every chance they get... it's hilarious to say the least. you all must realize that the feed is provided by google, and they have advertisers who control the bids and ppc values do vary and change all the time... ok, not for all the keywords in the world but you get the point.

the ppc game is inconsistent, i spend a lot on running ppc campaigns with google, overture and msn and i also do park a lot of domains with various companies...i know what goes on and why, everybody should... it's not rocket science. i wouldn't be complaining and bitching unless i wasn't making any money. if you are really unsatisfied with the results and/or feel that you are being taken advantage of (not paid enough) then the best thing to do is to move on or to do something about it if you are confident that at the end you will get a better deal.

it's that simple.

I am a little different than most here. I am BOTH a domainer and a BIG advertiser on Google and Overture. I spent for ONE of my ecommerce sites $70K last month on PPC ads. I also have parked domains in the same genre and keyword range. ONLY because of this fact did I realize HOW MUCH THEY WERE TAKING.

Because of GOOG TOS I cant quote exact info so I will give ballparks, for a particular keyword, I pay 1.50-2.50 per click, SEDO was giving me 10 CENTS. When I realized this, I then decided to do something - I decided to buy a parking program, since there was none available (you can pay DNF to program one for each site for $50 each - a slow and expensive process since you also need to pay for hosting - but I have had one made and like what they did) I decided to get a parking template programed to my specs - for my use. (I will be offering to to others soon). In my preliminary testing I am getting .75 - 1.00 per click on the same site and same keywords (remember sedo was paying .10 for the same keywords). I also have pages that are optimized for my top keywords, and that I can build traffic to (through seo and linking) I don't know the dynamics of other markets, but I would think it would be similar. Yes, it is better than getting nothing (which is what I was getting not long ago) but collectively the domainers here are leaving a LOT on the table...

Just my HUMBLE opinion.....

"Declined" is a polite word. I use "plunged", "dwindled", "evaporated".

ONLY because of this fact did I realize HOW MUCH THEY WERE TAKING.

They are NOT doing us a favor - WE do. We send them traffic - they send us a SMALL chunk of the earnings.

We can and we WILL get better payouts!

So it's time for action. I am currently recruiting for a co-op that will give domainers more power in their own hands. Seems that corporations that formed with The Man in mind don't cut it for the underdog.

Has anyone ever recreated a SEDO page from the source up and just filled it with ADSENSE? Not that I would encourage people to reproduce a copyright page, It would be interesting to see the difference in revenue.

I heard that the revenue share from parking programs are anything between 15% and 65% with the latter being only for top end parkers.

keep in mind that the ad inventory for google adsense sometimes is way different than the more popular and larger search network one. i know most advertisers only do the search... and don't even bother with content for various reasons.

there is only one sure way to finding out what is really out there and that is to experiment, you have a couple of options...use em.

Not everyone can ofcourse, but if you can, I would say do it, cause direct navigation may not always be the same as it was last year. I would rather have all my names be useful to whoever types them in then to have a parking page.

the reason parking pages are so successful and make a lot of money is because they are filled with nothing more then links, each click results in $ credited to your account.

anytime you develop a site and add pictures or content, those are distractions and your ctr will decline... how much? it varies with each theme and depends on the way you set your page up but you get the point.

and any parking page can be listed in any search engine as well, all you have to do is setup a framed url, stick in whatever meta tags you want.. and google, yahoo, msn, etc...will pick you right up and you too, with your parked domain, can have a custom title and description for your cache, which will of course ultimately yield more traffic and more green........just as a regular web site would.

without stats and proof, I really am on the fence about this one. Clearly SEDO is taking the piss, as are most of the other programs, I am curious as to what peoples findings are, so it can assist me in making an informed decision as to how I proceed.

From my own experience I do make more from sites that I develop affiliate/parking pages for myself. However some are what you might call filled with distractions, yet I have seen no decline, as they still make more than parked pages.

It just seems like a difficult thing to be absolute about as their are just too many variables on a domain by domain basis.

you are correct, you should evaluate each domain and it's traffic on a case by case basis... but there is a certain logic to my original statement that everyone should realize...it does not take a genius to figure this out.

1000 targeted visitors to a parked domain with targeted ads, which are laid out nicely will pull in at least 50% ctr.
with a developed page, full of distractions, you will pull in no more then a 10% ctr...and even that is pushing it...lucky to get that on a good day.
