Hi,

Can you appraise this domain: www.seoforum.com

Right now I just started it up, so I don't have significant traffic yet(!!). The plan is to make it THE forum for Search Engine Optimization...

Thanks in advance for your appraisals / opinions,

Ok, now I know that a forum may not be a profitable thing to have... so that makes a .com forum name more or less like a .org

on the other hand a good forum can draw traffic like almost no mom and pop business website can, and traffic, as you know, can mean more money... just look at the banner next to the Domain Name forum logo, hehe.

Just to be clear on this: my plan is not to make money out if this forum (www.seoforum.com), but to fill a need. And believe me, as search engines have become more important people will start looking at this to promote their website. Optimizing your website is one of the cheapest ways to get traffic = sales. So I would like fill that need with the Search Engine Optimization forum.

Any ideas on how to get this started? I'd love to hear about it. Ideas / partners welcome.

forums are very easy set up, but hard to get any worthwhile content in them and that means hard to get people to stick around and make contributions of their own.

there are already masses of seo sites out there, so you're going to have your work cut out getting the pro's to post on a new one.

but if you get it right, it could work well - good luck.

oh, by the way... i need people to start posting! so if you can make your contribution to the forum, please do!

thanks

$50-$100 for the domain since SEOForumS.com would be nicer. Plus the need for SEO forums is pretty much filled here, here, here, and here. ;)

You'd probably get a nice some offers if you listed the domain for sale. Some SEO people will want it.

"$50-$100 for the domain since SEOForumS.com would be nicer"

Why would adding an unnecessary "S" make the name better? The dictionary definition of forum is "A public meeting place for open discussion". He has one web site forum to discuss SEO. This is the Domain Name Forum for the same reason.

Why? Just personal preference.

It sounds nice and "forums" is just seems to be used more for PHPBBs, UBBs, and VBBs... which are usually made up of several boards/categories/forums.

It isn't really a significant difference. I'd pay $25 for that extra S, if given the option.

Hey I already posted that, this, this, and this! Gimme some credit. :D

To me, it looks like the niche as already been occupied.

Oh, and one other thing... is it really important to host the forum at it's own domain? (if it is I'd have to buy another hosting acocunt :(). Right now the domain seoforums.com is a frame that redirects to the hosting account of my website.

Just 'great' idea......
Get it up to 1,000+ members in about six months and sell it for 5k+.....or am I thinking of 'another' forum...?¿

Your thinking of something else
