Does any one of have any stats (such as a list with the reserves and the final sells price) on how the Reserve price affects the final selling price in domain name auctions?

They tell you setting a low reserve generates more interest and that the market will support the correct price. I think that's a load of B.S. I have seen people get screwed in No Reserve auctions. And I have seen names with low reserves under sell. The problems is to get your name in the auction they want you to set these ridiculously low reserves.

Then most names get sold under valued and then some how something that should have not been more than $20K sells for $800K in that same auction. WTF?

I have not had nearly as good results in auctions as I have had on my own. But I think I am going to try a few more names and see if I get get them submitted. mean I have over 4000 names so I'd like to start moving a few. I could sell 1 a day for the next 10 years.

Has anyone out there done well with auctions? What's the secret?

the guys who run the auctions will always want you to submit your domains with the lowest reserve possible.

they figure this may start the freezied atmosphere that will get bidders hyped.

the only auctions i have participated in so far, are those at sedo when i get an offer that is at or above my minimum.

i've heard stories from others who put some quality names in those no reserve auctions and they regret it now.

most people are still holding on to their cash and until the economy breaks, it will continue to hurt those "pre-established" values on some domains.
