I am not sure how it would play in your native language, but if you think you have to have one, I like the ones that the domain and the extension spell words...such as

ami.sh (a religious sect in the US plus a woman's name...ami)
barr.io (a spanish language for small urban community)

They both cost the same so there's only one thing left...your preference.

You are talking about "domain hacks", the most famous example is del.icio.us. These names are undervalued in today's world, but I think that strong domain hacks are a very good investment for the future. Names like Ri.sk, Washington.st(washington.state), wall.st(wall.street), doma.in etc, can sell for $x,xxx or more if you find the right buyer. The reason is the enormous brandability of these names. Having doma.in is the best alternative IMO, if you don't have money to buy domain.com. When advertised, the targeted audience will not forget this name due to it's uniqueness.

Gotta love it. The second most famous will soon be hit.name.

A website devoted to both domaining and picking names for children...

one site, divided in two...

a.hit.name
s.hit.name

Love it, love it, love it.
