This 2 word domain shows a count of 26 searches with the extension (January 2004) at Overture. Without the extension it shows 3500 searches.

It's a two word high profile domain... generic terms.

Should I register it - and are those good numbers for the potential of type-in traffic? What should 26 OVT with extension searches translate into real traffic?

Thanks!

Rob

I am not sure on traffic numbers, but if you dont want it, PM the name to me and I'll reg it...

LOL @ GT, woulda been easy for you to say reg it.

just 26 ov generally results in about 10 hits a day. But if the domain has good linkpop or se positioning, it may get much more.

Hehehe, nice try. I think I'll take it myself ...

You will usually find that anything with overture under 50 you might even say 100 and in redemption is usually false numbers created by scripts.

It's usually just speculators like us typing it in with the extention during its expire cycle. And if that's true, 26 aint much.

I can't believe you'd start a thread because you were afraid to risk a $7 registration fee.

I'd say many names with much higher OVT values are likely to be false. I've regged a few names with ovt 1000+ w/ ext that didn't get any visits. The smart thing to do is to check out the name on wayback and a link pop engine to see if there in fact has been a website there etc. If not (and its not a very common term) it simply doesn't get any traffic.

what name is it - if you have regged it

Thanks everyone for your comments, they're really appreciated.

Well, it's not so much for the cost of the registration, but the responsibility to do something with it after :) I was also interested in the worth of OVT count during the expiry period.

No, it hasn't dropped yet, so I don't have it yet.
