lol, I've never figured out the point of these? Is it supposed to be like an emo thing where if you're feeling really depressed you can make sure everyone else on the forum knows about it?

Personally I don't think it has any place in a "professional" forum...but that's just my opinion.

It would be a good idea when you select an option from the drop down it displays the icon right next to it so you see what it looks like.

Also where are these displayed? Well, I think we just answered this question. Located on the left.
