Fees go up by $10 next week.
SnapNames and NameJet are increasing their fees to catch pending delete expired domain names.
The sites will increase their minimum fees by $10 to $79.00 on Tuesday, July 19. The fee increase will not apply to domains already ordered at the $69.00 price.
SnapNames and NameJet pooled their resources earlier this year to go after pending delete domains.
SnapNames is 100% owned by Web.com (NASDAQ:WEB), and NameJet is a 50/50 partnership between Web.com and Rightside (NASDAQ:NAME).
SnapNames says the fee increase is necessary as it invests in more resources to catch these expiring domains.
Catching fully-expired domain names requires a combination of lots of registrars and sophisticated timing.
NameJet already increased its pending delete backorder prices earlier this year when the partnership with SnapNames was announced.
Some competitors offer lower pricing for drop catching.
