Very shortly, SnapNames willdiscontinue availability of new ShapShot subscriptions as a first step in phasing out the current configuration of this service. Existing SnapShot holders will not see their ACTIVE subscriptions affected. Shortly, however, we will no longer allow the creation of new SnapShot subscriptions.
Does that include PAID SnapShots? Or is it that there just ain't no PAID SnapShots!

That's probably it, I can't imagine many people paying for snapshots:D

I think they're gonna be hurting if they don't get better results. Unfortuneately, I have a few existing snaps I wish I didn't. They have missed a few emails regarding changes.

They have not snapped one name for me since the drops resumed. In fact, every one of the names was grabbed by NW. Not good...hope it improves.

I paid $20 for a set of snapshots before I knew better. Handy functionality for a newbie.

They will keep existing snapshots alive.

What I don't understand is the business model. Why would they want people to use their site LESS??? Why would a company offer less features unless things aren't going so well.

Maybe there's a reason they are not snapping so many names lately.

I have a PENDING DELETE coming up. Have a snap on it, a $100+ bid at Namewinner and got it on the list at DropWizard. Let's see who wins it for me.

I just talked to SnapNames and they said they are only removing SnapShots from their retail site, but it is still offered through API resellers and partners.

NameWinner wins again. They beat snap and DropWizard this time.

I have been monitoring several names with snaps and namewinner bids. Happen to be seeing a lot of PENDING lately at NW:)
