Social.com, anyone heard of them? I just picked up some names at Social.com in case it catches on.

I got

James.Social.com (my name)
DomainNames.Social.com

I stuck with names I would like to blog about.

What do you think? and do you think Search engines will fancy them?

Nope it won't. The owner of social.com is on DNF. He's trying to sell it for $3m+.

If there is a generic name that can compete with the facebook domain name, it's probably social.com.

I don't think that asking price is too far off the mark.

Agree. Especially as Social networking becomes a more dynamic force in how people search.

Yeah it's not too much. He's only trying to sell just the domain. This would be a perfect domain for Tumblr.com (Another blogging platform)

I don't see the platform catching on especially using someone else's backend wordpress. But name itself is stellar and in the hands of a strong media company can be turned into something special. Right now it looks like its just using a modded Buddy Press which is kind of lame. I was expecting something unique in the Social realm.
