The alarming part is that even in the niche market that I was looking at there were plenty of deletions which means overall they probably were in the thousands accross the boards. In some instances they actually retained certain names. What gave it away were the similarity in the names kept with those deleted.

If you could please share any information from the mailing list with us that would be great. I have had run-ins with this company in the past although I will not go into it in detail.

I have been looking through deleteddomains to see new registrations. I had not looked for a while so I was looking at some older dates during this past month. On a few occasions I have seen misspelled names showing up as having been registered however when looking at the whois the name no longer exists.

I think you will find Pool do this. If you check out the "Dutch Auctions" listings most are very poor domains. If they are not bought then they are "un registered" within a few hours.

I have seen new names be deleted by/from Pool for as long as I can remember.
