www.talkpaws.com is up for sale. I built this site about 6 or 7 months ago with the intention of turning it into one of the best pet forums/news portals on the net. I ended up having another one of my projects take off with great success and it has consumed all of my free time. So I am stuck with a great site and no time to give it the attention it needs.

Here are the details below.
It has a PR of 4
It's running on VBulletin and VB advanced.
The licence for VBulletin is not transferable so you will have to buy one or lease one. (its cheap anyways)
The licence for photopost is transferable and will be included in the sale of the site.
Value of Photopost $129.00 + custom mods/coding/graphics into the site $325
The licence for vBadvanced Links Directory is transferable and will be included in the sale of the site.
vBadvanced Links Directory v1.0.1 $34.99 + install cant remember what that cost.
The Flash headers are unique and custom made. $500
The site comes with a custom made Flash tutorial... $200
Custom made banners from http://www.bannersmall.com/ 55.50
Custom mods/coding for site total costs were around $500
I honestly cant remember all the mods to the site but I know there were allot.
The current stats for the site are Members: 504 Threads: 824 Posts: 2,250
As it stands I have not advertized it with the exception of adding a link to a friends PR7 site.
Traffic bounces around 50 to 100 unique a day... needs to be advertized!
Feel free to poke around the site and ask any questions. Your more than welcome to keep it hosted on our servers for $ 6.95 a month (www.web-rocket.com) or you can move it to your own. If you move it to I will help as much as I can but I am no pro with SQL database's.

I really hate to let this one go and I'm sure I will regret it but I cant give it the attention it needs.

The start price is: $1500 auction
I will set a BIN or sell it out right if someone makes me a decent offer.
To sweeten the deal I am going to add www.toppaws.net I built this to one day drive traffic to Talkpaws.com

any revenue
To be honest I haven't looked lol... If there is I'm sure it not much with just 50 to 100 unique a day. I have many domains with yahoo and Google so never looked at individual stats. All the work has been done and the potential is there someone just needs to market this site.

Fantastic looking sites, congrats. Can you post traffic stats?

Do you manually post the Pet News, or is that done by RSS?

Thank you...Yes we manually post news, takes about 10 min a day. You can set it up to automaticly pull ads from rss or Google etc.

As it stands I have not advertized it with the exception of adding a link to a friends PR7 site.

Guys let me explain something very clearly so we dont have any more random posts below my asking price.

1. I have over $2000 in it...
2. Its a new site and has never been advertized so yes the traffic and the forums are low (but steady)
3. I'm not in a big hurry to get rid of it... I personally love the site and the only way I was going to give it up is if it were going to someone who would take it and run with it and at least give me what I have in it.

PLEASE the asking price is not up for discussion... It is FIRM! $1500

I would be a fool to let it go for less... Maybe a fool for that much... This is not my first rodeo and I have many very successful sites. One sold on SP not to long ago for over $5500...

web-rocket...

well then you can appreciate that most people looking to spend 1500 bucks aren't looking for something they probably have to nurture...they're more apt to spend time and create their own little baby from scratch. A lot of people here are buyers of estanlished sites with revenue that they can hold to make back their costs and then gains...or something that is undervalued and can be pushed to make more with some loving care and changes.

I'm not knocking that your site isn't worth that much to you...BUT remember the worth of anything is what the market will bring.

Note I am also not judging the fact of whether you have other sites making money, or that you've sold sites for big bucks before.

Just consider your deal from the buyer prespective... there is someone out here willing to pay your asking price for it...but those low balling you in your mind just don't see the value without revenue or any established traffic as per se.

good luck with the sale of your site...

The Flash headers are unique and custom made. $500

The header cost $500?! Are you sure about that? Can we confirm? I'm just confused on how a simple header would cost so much.

Custom mods/coding for site total costs were around $500

Most mods are free, what paid ones are installed? You must know as you paid for them and have payment receipts?

It's a great looking site!

Are any of the current staff commited to staying and helping the community grow after the sale?

How much assistance can the purchaser expect from you in moving the site to another host (especially considering the high level of modification...be a shame to lose any existing features or data).

Yes I have one person who can stay on for a while to help with the news posting.

How much assistance can the purchaser expect from you in moving the site to another host (especially considering the high level of modification...be a shame to lose any existing features or data).

I can move the site with no problems. If you are running ensim pro for a web CP its very simple.

I have over $2000 in it, if your not interested in the site don't comment because I don't care what you have to say. This may come off as harsh but I have well over 50+ sites and I am well aware of how things work market wise. Bottom line is this is a good buy for a new comer that wants a site that's ready to go. I never once said it was a money maker... So please stop with the comments that have nothing to do with the sale of this site. $1500 is a good deal for all the work that's in this site. Like I said... I will keep it and market it myself if I don't sell it. I'm truly not in any rush nore do I HAVE to sell it. I just have my hands a little full right now.

If you are interested in the site I will answer any questions but I am not going to justify the price anymore. I have already stated what everything cost and yes some of the mods are free but I also paid several coders/designers to do work on the site. I did not build this site, I hired people I trust and that do a good job to put it together. I have a small group of freelancers that do work for me all the time. They built the site... I think if you look around you will see it's one of the best looking pets sites on the web. IMO

I'll bite... $1500 bid.

Chimaster, thank you for your offer. I am going to let this auction run through until Saturday night. 7pm central time. If I don't get any other offers then it's yours. To sweeten the deal I will host the site on my servers for 6 months free so you don't have to move it right away.
