It's the "losing" mobile phone standard in that the other standard, i-mode, is I believe widening the gap every month, but there are still something like 20 million PHS users. So it's a super name for the Japanese market.

Actually, the market share of "PHS" is decreasing than others.
However, it's still used widely.
