A little daily humor... :cheeky:

I'm so sick of seeing all these sales prices based on "potential"... ugh.

</rant> ;)

the whole industry is based on potential/speculation otherwise no one would ever buy a currently registered domain... even if you buy 'traffic' - you're buying potential no guarantees to visitor conversion

haha... yah, I think I remember seeing it when it said "POTENTIAL IS BULLPOOP" --I got a chuckle out of that one. ;)

I just offered to buy a site with a good concept but is failing miserably. I was looking to pay $1,500 or $2,000 -which is most likely more than 2 years of revenue.

The guy said it had too much potential and that the potential was worth $50,000... .hahahah... After more than a year, his site makes less than $100/month and he wants $50 G's?!?

Psh.

Cheers,

Wesley

Stating the website has potential is one thing. I love the threads though "this website has potential" so I'm going to try to sell it for 10x what it's worth. I'm getting tired of seeing the 10 member forums up for sale for $150-$250 without any sort of license but it has loads of 'potential'.

Sometimes it is true though, the potential thing. I recently purchased an established PR6 site with over 6000 uniques per day. Not one bit of advertising anywhere - that's what I call potential!

Agreed about the turnkey forums with a handful of posts, those don't exactly qualify ;)
