I don't know forum rules about "advertising"....

My domain name I already have is.... meccaof****.com (article being 'of')

Is it overkill to register... themeccaof***.com (articles being 'the' and 'of')

I'm trying to just cover bases, like a typo/alternative search. But is it really worth it? Just looking for advice.

dunno....hard to answer without knowing the full domain.

I would say that the length of your current domain is pretty long already, the longer the domain, the less likelihood you will get type in traffic.

If you do decide to register them, do it in bulk so that you get that discount at least....

good luck

Well, it's 6 letters that I left out, it is kind of long. I'm honestly not expecting much type-in traffic based on the combination of the words outside of word of mouth.

So for instance, let's say it's 'meccaofheirjordan.com'... would you still say it's a considerable investment to go back and pick up one with 'the' at the beginning?

Adding a 'the' as a prefix to a domain rarely adds any value. I'd pass.

Well unless you suspect you are going to have one very hot site, and that people are going to typo squat or otherwise misrepresent your domain then it's not worth the extra money.
