Topix.com sells privately for a cool million!
Think the .net was developed & they bought up the com. Not sure, either way, the sales are flying in!
Hope they didn't buy shares with the cash

What's Topix?
Adn topix.net bought the name?

Topix . net is a popular world news site... it is a PR8

Alexa Traffic Rank for topix.net: 1,416

Incoming Google Links: 898,000
Incoming Yahoo Links: 5,271,108
Incoming MSN Links: 223,482
Incoming Alexa Links: 8,187
Overall Incoming Links: 6,400,777

We have been advertising in Topix for +2 years, it's a site having a very huge traffic and of high quality for local services.

Topix was purchased by an association of American newspapers around a year ago. And trust me they are very well funded.

A very well known brand for online news that buy the com, that make sense.

In the end,he bought the dot com.
They have new strategy to develop their new site.

Why would any Web company that's amassed a good amount of traffic ever change its Web address? Topix.net, The switch could have "disastrous short-term results"

Overture did it years ago (before being bought by Yahoo) when they were GoTo.com and it worked out fine. Seemed a bit crazy at the time, but if you handle it right there should not be any problems.

short term pain for long term gain, no more lost traffic to the .com
