I found a name that appeared to have gone under the radar in pending delete (historically.com) that had no snap or godaddy.... since "ly" names aren't great I didn't really wanna spend a snap on it so I got a godaddy instead hoping that I would get it.

Someone out bid me on NW for it ($25) & who ends up taking it? Buydomains... :upset:

Yea, Buy Domains is a pretty good domain snapper.

So is UltSearch. UltSearch just grabbed a name I wanted: raelians.com

I had a Pool backorder, but Ult grabbed it, likely with a SnapBack.

These guys are tough tough competition.

Buydomains has beaten me on several names. Ultsearch has only beaten me once on a name I wanted by sniping me on namewinner with two seconds to spare. Buydomains trump card are their private connections (a lot more than ultsearch). They can fine tune their scripts to go after strongly for a name if they know they don't hold the snaps, namewinner spot, or any of the drop club bids.

Clem is "exactly" on the money.

Does BD and ult run scripts to snipe ppl @ NW?

OR do they have a partnership with NW? :D

I think its the 2nd, considering how much $ they pay NW.

Heck, maybe they even get a 20% discount!

Of course they do. They have no partnership with NW just the ability to put in bids at the last minute like anyone else.

I do however, suspect some "larger clients" have deals with drop clubs where they tell them the top bid on a certain name and they ask them if they will beat it. There is no accountability with blind bidding so they can do whatever they want.
