.TV - A VeriSign Company?

Since I never bought any .TV names I haven't paid much attention to them since way back when they launched.

I just got forwarded to a .TV website holding page and saw....

"The .TV Corporation- A VeriSign Company"

When did that happen?

Verisign is on an aggressive path to acquire ccTLD registries since they are losing their grip in the com/net/org marketplace.

They also own the registry for .cc.

I thought they owned a couple others too, but they are eluding me right now.

Yes, isn't it incredible how VeriSIgn (NetSol) and Register.com and some others always grossly overpay for these dubious value firms such as .TV, .CC, GreatDomains, and Afternic. I have read Register.com already wrote off as a loss most of the 40 Million or so they paid for Afternic.

What type of idiotic management do they have to offer that kind of money for these very dubious value acquisitions? It's also amazing how after spending the big corporate bucks they immidiately mismanage and run them in to the ground, such as how Register.com handled Afternic, stripping away their former good support and reputation as they did. GreatDomains is also a shadow of its former self, with most of their once great features gone, similar to AN. What idiots they all are

 

Did you see that Register.com wrote off $32.5million from their accounts due to the loss in value of afternic?

Considering that back when they bought them thats close to what it cost them, thats like admitting afternic is, as we all know, worthless.
