Gambling company wants domain name registered in 1993.

Huh?

A cybersquatting complaint has been filed at World Intellectual Property Organization against the domain name Circus.com.

Circus Belgium, which operates a gambling website at Circus.be, filed the claim.

The domain name is owned by Online Guru, Inc., the company that operates DMV.org.

Circus.com was registered in 1993.

As best I can tell from looking at historic screenshots, the site has always had content related to what you’d think — animals and entertainment circuses.

I’ve reached out to Online Guru’s owner to try to get more information on the filing. On the surface, this looks like a case of reverse domain name hijacking.
