everybody here knows about sub domain such as money.cnn.com

i am from taiwan and lots of domains are for example yahoo.com.tw

or tw.yahoo.com

or xxxx.com.tw

or xxx.tw

now

if i buy com.tw

and creat sub domain such as yahoo

it would be yahoo.com.tw?

.com.tw is a TLD that's offered, just like .tw and .org.tw. It's not like someone registered com.tw and is now offering subdomains on it if that's what you mean.

And due to the fact that .com.tw is offered as a TLD, I'm sure com.tw as a domain wouldn't have been available for registration.

yeah you're right. ICANN would have definitely taken that in consideration otherwise you will have 2 different google.com.tw etc lol

if you typed www.yahoo.com.tw you would go to that page

i know a domainer who owned "us.org" and i suggested that they set-up their own second level extensions.


com.tw is an actual website www.com.tw and it's also set-up as a second level extension as "domains.com.tw"

centralnic is one of the main registrars who manage many "second level extensions" like ".us.com"


BTW: back in the day, i used to own the typo > "yahhoo.com.tw"
