I remeber the last guy trying to sell a music video code site got almost executed here on dnf.

good luck with the sales.

Yeap, it's because everyone is imature and acted like a bunch of kids because they were jealous.

The fix for the Yahoo videos is out, and within time, all of the music video sites will have it. Just note that the fix is not 100% foolproof, and that it may happen again, but there will likely be a fix for it again as usuall.

And these type of sites do NOT make money from Google ads, as I can confirm that myself, they make money from cpm banners from FastClick, Casale, Burst, TribalFusion...etc.

VideoCodeZone.com was banned from Adwords and yet the owner makes $40,000+ per month from the site, and spends $0 in marketing. These are definately big dollar sites, and have huge potential

Good Luck!

Jason I don't think the challenges presented here are just "because everyone is immature" and "jealous". Noone should sell this type of site saying that "they have a permanent fix" or "there will likely be a fix for it again as usual" without knowing. No problem with anyone selling this or any other site with a straight forward word of buyer beware and the site is sold as is. Just be straight forward and include the risks with the benefits, and leave out the insults and I doubt you'd run into opposition.

By the way, let me know when any of these sites find a fix for my favorite video code so I can add it back to my blog. See what happens? http://www.videocodezone.com/videos/a/acdc/back_in_black_live.html

Basically you are using Yahoo's bandwidth for your own profit.
Yahoo makes it harder, you don't stop that.
I am sure the next step from Yahoo will be a C&D letter.
and that is not the worst scenario.

see the bad thing is I DO HAVE a perm fix for this and all vid code sites for the yahoo thing and its not the mvscript one, but its not worth it because myspace just blocked all embed tags so videocode sites will dissappear and die in the coming weeks.

Jason and Domain Master I can't get either versions of those to work on the blogs here at DNF when they did before. Don't have a lot of confidence that there will be a "perm" fix. Too bad, I liked those videos. Is there a site that actually allows you to purchase the code for placement on your site?

when you guys are saying you have a permanent fix, what exactly is your definition of permanent?

Did you get permission from Yahoo, or do you have some partnership with Yahoo?

thanks

Still having problems. One way to prove somebody has a fix that works would be to plug the code for AC/DC "Back in Black" on their own free blog here at DNF. Codes used to work for me here for that song. In fact, the first person to do that and make it work for me, I'll send them 500 DNF$ as a prize.

Seems like yahoo is going through alot of trouble to block such sites. Why is myspace trying to stop it? Is it a fact or rumor that myspace are blocking these sites?

Well I am 90% positive that Yahoo is NOT trying to stop music video codes sites, as if they really wanted them to stop they could just send out a C&D letter to all the site owners, which has never happend for almost the past year.

And Yahoo does send out C&D letters to violaters all the time, and are pretty quick about it. If you show someone how to download the music videos, most likely you will get a C&D letter within a week or less, almost guaranteed.

So that leads me to believe that Yahoo is obviousely not trying to shut down the sites, as there are much easier ways to do so if they wanted to.

And yes MySpace stopped allowing the embedded tags, and this is NOT because of music videos, this was done for promotional reasons ONLY, and the new owner that purchased MySpace for $580,000,000 is trying to promote certain music online, so they want to shut out the competitors. But there are a ton of other sites such as Friendster and Xanga which are very heavy on music video codes

Why would yahoo block any of these ? they put the videos on there to let people see it , weather people are linking to them or not then not letting people see the videos kinda of goes against what they are put there for :S

They would block people hotlinking the videos...because people are using yahoo's bandwidth and content (in this case videos) on a different site other than yahoo and claiming it as their content. Yes yahoo wants people to be able to access the videos, but from yahoo's site, not from some other site that is hotlinking them.

think of it this way...if someone came to one of your webpages, grabbed all the content from them but hotlinked the content so that they did not have to pay the bandwidth on them being used...and then did not give your site any credit or links saying the content came from them yet made money off of your content keeping any potential sales or advertising revenue from every visiting your site ...would you have a problem with it? Common sense says yes.
