I'm a New Yorker and this is absurd! I plan on writing to some of my contacts to complain but in the meantime what's to stop everyone(in NY) from creating a delaware corporation and moving all names to the new entity?

What if you are just holding the name and not offering it for sale?

Does this mean I should delete my own name?

Of course the law makes no sense. These people don't know what they are talking about.

I'm not sure of the intent but it's ramifications could be disturbing.

It could be worse. They could be intervening to prevent the US economy melting down. Perhaps it is just as well they are not!
