So I have been looking at sites that (automagically) estimate a website's "value" -- seems like they vary wildly and are better suited for entertainment purposes only:

websiteoutlook.com
dnscoop.com
estibot.com
stimator.com

Can anyone list any others?

Uhm, the only one out of those that I think is the most legit is websiteoutlook.com, at least for my sites.
Edit: DNScoop.com has seemed to improved and is about as accurate as well...

i use a "the hats"

i write down some values/prices for domains on little pieces of paper, then toss them in the hat.

then i take another hat, that has little pieces of paper with a domain written on each one.

then i pull out a domain name from one hat and a price from the other hat.

works every time! :)

Well they aren't my "domains or services", but I apologize for posting direct links if that isn't allowed. :)

Forget about the websites and domains for a while.
I like the kid in your avatar!

Tough looking little dood..

Websiteoutlook.com is strangely quite on the spot.

An easy, fast and always solid way to see if your domain worth A LOT is to see if you get emails of interest from your whois email (and they're not appraisal scams)

Super-Premium, Premium and high value domains up to $5000 normally receive this kind of emails

Medium-Lower value below $5,000 get some emails as well at a lower rate

Low value ($0-$100) rare to none. If you get one sell the domain fast.

websites or domains?......plenty of differences in the appraisals of each

While I'm sure all that is true, I wonder if we lose some inquiries because of protected WHOIS info? Unfortunately due to spam and the overwhelming amount of postal junk mail (like the many fake "domain renewal" letters), we have to use WHOIS privacy settings, which may keep out a few emails/contacts.

But assuming someone is serious, I would hope they would jump through some hoops to make contact for a domain they really wanted.

What are you? The internet police? How do you know that he is promoting, seemed to me & others that he was asking a legit question in regards to estimators..

As far as website evaluators. I think the best by far evaluator is that of people. Slap that baby up for an appraisal then see what they say because in all essence, who's buying your site or whatnot? The machine or the people. i am sure you know that answer.

Good Luck

I recently sold two domains , each for $5000.

websiteoutlook.com gave me appraisal of $190 and $480 !!!
