I have a few domains that I consider valuable registered with BargainName.com and was wondering what would happen to my domains if BargainName.com went out of business?

Should I register my most valuable names with Verisign? Just to play it safe?

What does everyone else do with their most valuable names?

TIA

Why let yourself be overcharged, ignored and abused by Verisign?

I have accounts at 70 registrars including Verisign. Soon to be 69.

Enom is my favorite. Nuff said?

Not yet... :)

What happens if BargainName.com goes out of business? Would there be a risk of losing my domains?

Wow 70 Registrars?...Must get confusing! :D

I've used a few registrars, but prefer "000Domains.com".

When a registrar goes - the domain are transfered to anthoer registrar, the domain keep the same info and are available to the original owners. It's a lot more wordy in the documentation - but that's the short of it.

yea I use 000domains.com even though they charge 13.95/yr. They are an OpenSRS reseller and share the same control panel so if they went out of business I coudl always transfer to another OpenSRS reseller.

Check out an earlier post where I give a reponse about the escrow requirements included in the ICANN Registrar accreditation agreement.

Same approach and methology as subreseller of enom. For example, subreseller01 is reseller of www.needname.com. You register a domain from subreseller01, if they goes out of business then go to subreseller02 within www.needname.com tree.

Same features and services.

Hope this add info.
