What is amazonaws.com ?

In my server referral logs I see this : amazonaws.com in various sites and having nothing to do with amazon.com

I have been seeing it for many months and often it's also the #1 visitor to the website.

Anyone know why it would be visiting my sites so much? Could it be bot?

Been seeing it a lot lately myself. Have not researched it much though.
