Yep, it has expired and it is not renewed.

"Expiration Date: on 01-jan-2003 for example, the registry instantly extended the domain until 01-jan-2009 if the regstrar did not receive payment from the registrant - they may delete the domain. If the Creation Date shows 2009 as well - then the domain was renewed."

So you are saying that we are being dupped. Expire date is 22 Jan 2003. However, when you look at the end there is a line states that the expire date is 21 Jan 2004.

BTW what do you mean "may delete"

Since the status is still "Active", the registrar can modify the domain. It can still be renewed.

ACTIVE: The registry sets this status. The domain can be modified by the registrar. The domain can be renewed. The domain will be included in the zone if the domain has been delegated to at least one name server.

The domain was not renewed by registrant. The registry shows one more year as it was instantly added on expiry date. Netsol did not send delete command to the registry yet. They may never do so.
However if netsol decides to delete the name - this may happen in early March - they will send "delete" to the registry, and
"pending" period (up to 30 days) will begin. I'm still not sure is it 30 days exactly or up to 30 days...

up to 30 days + 5 days purge period.

Ok I understand that but why registrar (Netsol) automaticly adds 1 year to expire date ?

I'm not sure if I'm correct. But if the registrar has not received a payment from the domain owner before it expires, the registry will randomly set a new expiration date that the domain has to be paid for. If not paid, it will later drop. So the new expiration date could be 1-10 years from now. However, it does not mean a thing if the domain owner does not renew.

registrar did not add any years. Registry did. This is how registry works - they add one year instantly for each expired domain. And they are going to charge registrar $6 for this. This process has nothing to with registrar-registrant payment relations. However registrar has an option to delete the domain within 45 days and not to be charged $6. The registrar should use this opportunity if registrant did not pay for renewal.
Each time "grandfathered" expired domain appears - expired 2 or three months or even a few years ago - this meand that the registrar paid to registry $6 for each renewal from their own pocket...
This is how I understood the process based on Registry-Registrar agreement published somewhere at verisign-grs.com

Well your info is partially true. 1 year was an example above. I have seen some domains recently with an expire date in Jan 2003 but as you said registry expire date of 2005. So it, the registry could add more than one year.

Anyway, thanks for the correction, the registry adds just some dummy more years and this does not mean that the name renewed or something. Thanks

The point is that Verisign Registrar doesn't worry too much about the $6 auto bill from the Registry, because it's not going to have to fork up cold hard cash like the other Registrars.

One of the reasons why they SHOULD have been forced to sell NSI off.

Thanks ICANN!
