develop the ones you like. If you aren't going to do that, then keep the ones with traffic and drop the rest. If reg fees don't mean much to you, then keep all of them just in case there are people who want to buy

Think I need to get to grips with all the techie stuff needed to develop the good names and use a bit of direct marketing for the rest, I've had a couple of offers via SEDO.

If you have no technical (HTML/CSS/php/MySQL) skills, you can use WordPress to throw up a quick site on any subject by yourself. See www.StuntBikes.us for an example of a WordPress site that is NOT a blog. (Such a domain name would get virtually no type-in traffic, so content is critically important.)

If your domain name suggests something richer, like an online community with forums and file sharing, you can use Joomla to build a site without technical skills. See www.accordionist.org for an example. In this case, you must also do some marketing, via email and forum posts, to get the word out. Otherwise your new site is like a party before the first guests arrive, and the search engines haven't got much content to index yet (since your visitors will generate most of the content).

WordPress and Joomla are both free scripts, with huge and helpful communities of users.

If you can learn a little HTML, or find a friend who knows it, it is even possible to generate a profit with a static, single-page website. See www.MovingVanRentals.us for example. In this case, the key is to have a narrowly focused domain name and very relevant content, so the search engines will be your best friends. A good way to learn HTML is to "view the page source" with your browser, save it to your PC, and edit it minimally to change the page into "your" page.
