This domain will beat the current top reported .ca sale of $600k? I'm shocked but CONGRATS that is great news!
It is because of who wants it.
It will not be anyone you would expect.

My first thought is a high profile doctor or organization dealing in heath care information or drug company, but now that you say it's not "anyone you would expect", I will change my guess completely, and say it's Michael Douglas (MD.ca for short)
might as well have fun with the guessing!
Sounds like McDonnell Douglas, they use MD in a lot of their literature and they have a tough name to spell. "McDonnell" is that 1 N and 2 Ls or 2 Ns and 1 L or 2 Ns and 2 Ls...
They also have deep pockets.
If I am right, do I get a prize?
They spell it b-o-e-i-n-g now.
I was tempted to register it, but a TM approved since 1984 would make this a very risky registration.
Very good name. To be honest, if I had to choose between that name and creditcards, I would choose creditcards in a heartbeat.
They spell it b-o-e-i-n-g now.
Hah, yeah, in my first career, I worked for McDonnell Douglas. They sold out to Boeing a LONG time ago now, back in the 90's.
I'm still going with my non-profit guess, specifically Muscular Dystrophy. They have a lame domain name now, muscle.ca. And md.ca will be something people will remember and can spell. I think it would benefit them greatly.
Too bad about the 'Boeing 717' line being shut down - Boeing really did not want to keep that MD line running.
They would need to give DCG a pile of money, but doing so would annoy donors, unless a corporate sponsor paid the cost in return for a large deduction.
One could speculate that the Canadian Medical Association would be able to make use of md.ca since they use 'MD' as a mark.
Ok I'm asking for a hint...Dew they have money?ound:
But they do own CMA.ca already, which isnt bad. And they really only cater to doctors and not the public, so I'd be shocked if they spent that much for a vanity domain that isn't even needed for public use.
They use MD as a mark already, and it works in both languages. They could also build a directory of Canadian doctors using a structure like name.md.ca to list members.
