Where's my icon???

I put a message icon next to a thread I started in another forum (similar to the question icon next to this post). A few minutes later, I returned and the icon was gone.

??? What happened to the icon ???

It was my understanding that message icons were to serve as attention-getters. So it kinda bothers me that for some reason unknown to me the attention-getter was stripped from my message.

I was really just curious as to why someone would remove my icon in the first place (if it was indeed removed by a person). Did I violate some rule of the forums, or did I piss someone off?

It may have just been a glitch, there is no way that I know of for even a Mod to strip the icon without it showing that your original thread was edited, and a timestamp that shows who did it under the message.
