I am trying to decide on which domain to register for my site. "blank.com" is taken. Should I go for "iblank.com" or "blank.org"? Thank you!

blank.org is better

It all depends, for some projects you need .com and .org wouldn't work at all.

.org is cool if you don't mind sending free traffic to the .com.

Unless the "i" fits nicely *, then the generic.org is better.

* E.g., I'd rather have idating.com than dating.org for an internet dating service.

I agree with DNP, get both and then forward the weaker one to the primary one. It really depends on the project though, some domains fit the .org perfectly, and some definitely don't.

i think there is alot more for me to learn about the domain industry..I thought iblank.com would be better than a .org. Maybe I do not realise the value of .org yet.

who really cares if you have a successful site?

That's why I said "if you don't mind." Some people don't care. I do. Why make someone free money off my own dime and hard work? If the site is truly successful, the .com owner is making thousands a month! Big projects that are going to be advertised should stick to the king - the .com. If this is for a personal blog, info site, affiliate site, etc, the.org works just fine, imho.

iBlank.com or eBlank.com for website with high promotion, Blank.org for personal website and for huge website project just buy Blank.com ;)
