can anyone explain this change ? how the expiration date changed from 2006 to 2005 ??!! backwards ?

i saw this happened to many of my monitored domains

I think : registrar adds automatically one year to expired domain, then if they don`t get the payment from customer, then they simply don`t pay to the central registar and then the domain will go to delete cycle.
