I can give you a whole list of one word .com.cn domain names,
and none of them are worth a dime. I have "loan-bank.com"
which gets traffic from 'loanbank.com.ke" all korean traffic, which proves the point that consumers from other countries are not
using the third level country code to access the net.

Stop wasting your money! on .com.cn. while you're spending cash on 3rd Ltld, they are still buying .com and .net

Great question Bid. I'm sitting on a VERY nice .com.cn name - but haven't registered it yet. If I knew I was going to get first shot at the .cn version - then I would definitely register it.

Popper Yep, thats really the only reason I purchased a .com.cn yesterday and would have reged a few more if they had been available..

Hey it's only money and you ARE a speculator not a spectator !

what the "h" go for it popper

I think I understand that other gentlemans point..since com.cn had already been availbe in china..THOSE registrations will get first coice at .CN in Marh (names they already have in .com.cn) BUT at this stage..would be interesting if they plan on EXTENDING that "rule" to the new registraions.. ? sunrise for all com.cn owners into .CN

Beatz I would tend to agree with you..in fact I wrote basically the same thing last month when mole was asking about.com.cn.. I had just made a bunch of posts on the rise of ccTLDS and had pointed out the most successful ones (dramatic growth ) was happening in 2nd level cctld extensions ..that countries having trouble (lack of growth)with their cctlds were the ones using 3rd levellccTLDS like Aulstralia using .com.au for example.

anyways..

http://dnforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12862

so that was BEFORE I was aware that they were going to release .CN in March..

for MY speculative reasons ..I have backed off that stance just enough to make room for the possiblity of some sort of a sunrise on the .CN for .com.cn holders (as you see in my other posts)

chinewang you are chinese, what's your take on this?

I have regged a few generic .com.cn's like the ones below.
What do you think about them? What if they were .cn and not .com.cn ? Would that make a difference ? Is it an English word .cn a strange thing for chinese people or is English common enough that it will be typed in?

And what did you mean by "If you have .com.cn,you can register .cn now." I would LOVE to waste a few more bucks to get the .cn to my .com.cn's :)) Do you know how I could do that right now (before March 17) ???

Thanks for your answers.
Reinhard

here are my current .com.cn's

FirstInsurance.com.cn
BankLoans.com.cn

Xrated.com.cn

Erotics.com.cn
