Some domains sit in a portfolio for years with no offers and no real activity.

Then renewal time comes, and they still get another year.

Maybe the keyword still feels strong, maybe the timing is not right yet, or maybe it is just hope.

What usually makes you renew a domain like that?

Usually it's a mix of low renewal cost and genuine belief the name still has value.

Some hold on because the keyword or niche still feels relevant long-term, others just haven't sat down and done the math on whether years of renewals add up to more than the domain would actually sell for.

And yeah, sometimes it really is just hope.

Good points, radnd. The other thing I always wonder about is whether the name actually had a fair shot at getting noticed. If it has just been parked on a default lander with barely any eyeball traffic, a year of zero inbound offers really does not tell you if the name is a dud or just invisible.

When you decide to hold onto a quiet name for another cycle, do you usually tweak the BIN price or push it out to different marketplaces? Feel like changing up the setup at least gives you some fresh data to look at before the next renewal invoice hits...
