Will WLS allow us to transfer our "slots" to other domain names or are the WLS slots for one domain restrictively??

If we're able to transfer from one domain to another, would it be wise to:

1. Have as many WLS slots as possible. 100, 500, 1000, etc.

2. Search valuable domain names 5 days from expiration (good chances are if they haven't renewed yet they won't).

3. Use slots on these domains.

4. Repeat.

A WLS request, as I understand it, will be for one name only, non-transferable, non-refundable. If that name ever drops, it's yours... otherwise, bye-bye $$.

Hahaha, rant your frustrations at antiwls.org

I was thinking of registering prowls.org, but it sounds like a site for hungry wild animals. :D

1,000 slots may cost 50k. Rather than having 1,000 'maybe' chances on average names that may be renewed and you lose your $$$, simply put that $$$ together and offer it directly to the existing registrants and be certain of getting some great names now and put them to work immediately.

Agree with fizz. I'm looking forward to seeing the final pricing structures that will be implemented, but it certainly won't be cheap.

According to the Revised WLS Proposal dated March 20, 2002:

"... over the life of the one year subscription period, the subscriber may change the domain name tied to the subscription up to a maximum of five times."

So the one year subscription, will be very similar to an one year Snap subscription except for the change limitation.

Therefore, O.C., your strategy is pretty good until you have changed domain names 3 or 4 times per slot. Then you will have to shoot for "sure things".

jk Newsflash: Virginia will be the next state to legalize gambling on the Internet and will become home to the $50 slot machine.

The Verisign Casino has been given the green light to install an unlimited number of WLS slot machines that will be accessible to anyone in the world, with no age restrictions.

In a variation on the standard slot machine rules, with the VC slots your $50 bet is linked exactly to the target prize you must select in advance.

The trick will be not to aim too high, and those lucky punters following this technique will take home juicy winnings like MyVeryBestest3BusinesDamains.net.

Those who aim too high will very likely lose due to a flaw in the system that will allow astute folks to buy the target prizes directly from the current owners, before they enter the slot cycle.

In this scenario the VC will earn an extra $6 with the payment of the renewal fee.
