Word sorting/manipulatuon software

Hi, does anyone know of software that will scan/look at a list of words (domain names) and sort them into various new lists? The new lists are set/determined by the user inputing different criteria.

Say, list from shortest to longest. Remove numbers, hyphens etc.

I'm sure there is some, my brain is dead on this one

Any help would be appreciated. Some $DNF 4 u too if helpful!
