Hello Everyone.....

I found that a russian bank has a com.ru, of one of my .com's and I'm wondering if I should email them. And see if they want to give me a offer, on my domain before I start marketing it, I don't know how big the bank is or anything. Nor do I know any russian at all, I'm hoping others can advise me better on this. I think it's a corp bank, and they got investors from the UK but not sure.

My domain is **altbb.com**, and their domain is altbb.com.ru. I'm not even sure russians like .com's at all, as most of them seem to have the $100 per year .ru or .com.ru domains. I do remember that russian that ripped off sex.com though, so they must know about the .com's worth I'm sure. Thanks, Tim. :)

Links to the bank's site, and whois for it as well.

Wait for their inquiries and don't put any financial related content on the domain, unless you want to risk to lose your domain.

Thanks, for the heads up on that......

I did not in anyway, get the domain to sell to them. I got **altbb.com** and **altbbs.com** thinking of alt.bbs, that is well known world wide. As the start of the free internet as we know it now, and now best known as the worlds biggest news groups. I also got the .net's and .org's for both, they stand for Alternative/Alternate Bulletin Board Systems.

And the alt.bbs, is known by millions and millions of people, and in some countrys it's very very big. And google, yahoo, msn, and all ISP's still carry the alt.bbs, news groups, but you are right I better not ever put any bank stuff on them. I did not know about the bank even, till I did research just now well after a year of getting the domains.

Boy this TM stuff is nuts, I done TM search's on them and come up with nothing. So if they got a TM it must be only for russia, but I'll not chance my domains by asking them at all. This is also a big wake up call for me, and I will not ever email anyone about buying any of my domains. As they could claim TM's doing that, some thing I've not thought about before you said some thing. You just never know, instead of a sale you could wind up losing them.

I got all 6 domains in mar-2006, and it had nothing what so ever to do with that bank. That also bring up other problems, lets say a TM owner wants to buy a domain from you. And they hold a TM to it in some form, could they not say you was trying to sell it to them even though they asked. And then try and just hijack it from you, like in my case I could never ever sell to that bank then right ?

It would be the case then, where them having a TM would keep me from ever selling it to them. I will error on the safe side every time, so it would be just to bad for them if they wanted it. This TM stuff is real dumb, even with super generic domains like these. I never in my wildest dreams, thought any place could own a TM to such generic domains. But it would seem, that incs can get TM's, for anything they want no matter how generic these days.

It's hard to prove. If you try to sell it to them, you expose yourself to many questions. The *authorities* can't read your mind and they only listen to your mouth. You know, banks are rich. They can afford lawyerS.
