They will make their money back. I am sure the markup for jerseys is ridiculous

Looks like a 20 year payback to me.

Much better ways to spend 7K.

If they have ad sponsors, it will pay itself back in 1 year.

Overpriced? No way! This price was a steal.

Obviously there's tons of uses for this domain, but I'd send the traffic to eBay and turn it from a few dollar per day domain on ppc to possibly a few hundred dollar per day domain flipping new customers to eBay.
When more companies start giving a bounty for new customers like eBay gives, plus with the rise of syndication technologies and product feeds, the value of domains that describe tangible products are going through the roof.

This sounds like an 'Ouch baby, ouch' auction. How many people were participating? The last time something like that happened to me, I had to eat McDonald burgers for 2 months.

there were 10 people in the auction. Started at $300 for the first day, went up to $1800 with 2 hours left and then I checked after the fact and it was $7600.....

what is funny is how you can rationalize the price as you see other people bidding it up. If you start saying $1,000 is your tops, but suddenly others are bidding $2,000, you say $3,000 probably makes sense...!

thats why they love the auction system.

I'm glad it went for a lot, makes my super premium baseball name look even better...

yeah, baseball jerseys are big business, $7,600 doesn't seem too high
