Hi there,

I am about to close a deal with someone for a purchase of a domain name on a private basis. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good reliable escrow service for domain sales that doesn't charge arms and legs?

I cannot speak for anyone else, but I have used escrow.com, and the transaction closed fine. However, I cannot speak to every circumstance and I suspect there are people who also do not like the service.

I have also gone a completely different route, with a contract that required funds to be held in escrow by my lawyer in his trust account, which were released in accordance with the terms of an escrow agreement and the purchase and sale contract.

Either way is feasible.

Good Luck

Wait, you aren't buying "x.com" LITERALLY, are you? PayPal currently owns that and I didn't think they had any plans to sell it.

He probably meant 'x' to represent an unstated domain name.... I doubt the sell of x.com would occur through an escrow service... a swiss bank more likely

That seems pretty obvious.
